You are in office. The photo you need is in your phone.
What do you do?
Most people open WhatsApp Web on the office computer and send the photo to themselves. Some people open their personal email and mail it to themselves.
Both work. But think about it. You have opened your personal WhatsApp or email on a shared computer. If you forget to log out the next person can see your chats.
Some people use a data cable. That works only if you have the cable and the computer allows it.
With Hi Boards the file moves without any of that.
You open your board on both devices. You drop the photo in the phone. It shows on the computer. That is all.
Do it like this
- Open your board on the phone. Go to the Files and text tab.
- Open the same board on the computer. Log in with the same username and PIN.
- Drop the photo in the phone. You can send a photo, a PDF, a video or any file.
- It shows on the computer in seconds. Download it and you are done.
Please remember
- Forgetting to log out on a shared computer
- Using it as a permanent store for files
- Sharing the board code with people you do not know
- Keeping a very simple PIN
Files and text are deleted on their own after 7 days. This is on purpose. It is a place to move things and not a place to store them. Sticky notes stay.
You can send text also. An address, a long link or a bank detail. Type on the phone and copy on the computer.
What to do in the next 7 days
- Day 1: Make a board called Office or Transfer.
- Day 2: Log in on the phone and on the office computer.
- Day 3: Send one photo and one PDF from the phone and download them on the computer.
- Day 4 to 7: Try sending a long link or an address as text. Log out when you leave.
