This is Atelier. It is a website we built for an interior design studio.
When a family is planning to do up their home they do not read long paragraphs. They look at photos. They imagine their own drawing room in that photo.
So for a design business the photos do the selling.
Many design studios have beautiful work and a weak website. Small photos. Too much text about philosophy and passion. A contact form hidden on the last page.
We did the opposite. We kept the text short and gave the full screen to the work.
The visitor opens the site and sees a finished room on the full screen. They scroll and see another one. By the time they reach the contact button they have already decided.

What we focused on
- Large photos of real work. Finished homes and offices. Not drawings and not stock photos.
- Clean and simple pages. Nothing on the page fights with the photos.
- Easy to contact. The contact button is always in front.
- Fast on the phone. Large photos are heavy. We made them light without losing quality.
Mistakes on design websites
- Showing fifty projects. Show your best ten
- Using photos taken in bad light
- Writing about yourself more than about the client's home
- Not telling which city you work in
This works for every business where the work is visual. Interiors, architecture, photography, fashion, event decoration and furniture.
If your work looks good then let the website step back and let the work speak.
What to do in the next 7 days
- Day 1: Choose your ten best projects.
- Day 2: Get good photos of each one in daylight.
- Day 3: Write two lines for each project. The city, the size and what the client wanted.
- Day 4 to 7: Remove the weak photos from your website and your Instagram.
If your work is visual your website should show it like this. Message us on WhatsApp
Which photo of your work are you most proud of? Tell us what makes it special.
